Policy & Experience

I believe that every Black man deserves a federal or state guaranteed job, or guaranteed income.
State Family Courts should mandate mediation and child shared custody or visitation options for Black fathers that request it regardless of their ability to pay support.
I support the opening of an "Office of Men's Health" at the State and Federal level to bring focus on addressing mental health, chronic disease and social determinant challenges faced by Black men.
I support Medicare for All or universal health coverage that includes mental health, substance use and preventive care.
To make Black communities safer, law enforcement reform should include banning chokeholds/no-knock warrants, ending qualified immunity, requiring body cameras, and using non-armed responders, nationally.
I believe housing is a right and that Federal and State governments should invest in and guarantee affordable housing and first-time homebuyer support to eliminate homelessness among Black people.
Federal and state governments should fund a "Marshall Plan" (infrastructure, jobs, environmental health, violence prevention) to rebuild systemically disinvested Black communities.

Additional Questions

In the past 12 months, have you or someone close to you faced barriers getting capital (loans, grants) to start or grow a Black-owned business?
In accordance with the 2011 US Supreme Court's Turner v Rogers decision, I support releasing all Black fathers currently incarcerated only for failing to pay child support due to inability to pay.
Black men nationally should automatically regain the right to vote after completing a criminal sentence.
Schools should provide STEM-H3 education (STEM, History, Humanities/Arts, Health), teach accurate Black history, and create culturally affirming learning environments.
I support reparations for slavery (e.g., direct payments, land, debt relief, and investments in Black communities) for Black Americans.
